Wow what a crazy past couple of weeks! I had an absolutely incredible time meeting musicians and entertainment industry professionals at Folk Music Ontario in Toronto, Ontario and just recently, this past weekend in Chicago at the first ever DIY CD Baby Music Conference!

I am currently sitting in Chicago but tomorrow morning will be en route to New York City to open up for an incredible singer songwriter I met the last time I was in NYC!
How we met: On a trip to NYC on Sunday, March 29th to meet Scott Hull of Masterdisk, I decided to go check out some live music at The Bitter End and was blown away by professional pianist Alycia Mayhew. Her kind friends were extremely welcoming and invited me to spend the evening with them, listening to live jazz music in downtown NYC. I was traveling alone so having new friends was such a pleasure!
The irony of our encounter, is that the only reason I was in NYC was to meet the mastering engineer who is finalizing my debut album “Savannah Soul”. When I met Alycia, she mentioned how she had finished her recording process for her next album, but was looking for someone to master it. How ironic is that!?
She has since decided to work with Scott & Mickie at Masterdisk and the final product is incredible! Scott has mastered for some of the best musicians of all time (Sting, Dave Matthews Band, Bob Dylan, John Mayer).
You can get a live taste of the music this Thursday night on Bleeker Street in downtown Manhattan at Le Poisson Rouge! Show starts at 6pm and features live art, spoken word, music, poetry and more! I’ll be opening up and sharing some songs from my soon to be released album “Savannah Soul”.

Alycia Mayhew is a New York City based singer/songwriter pianist who has been performing up and down the East Coast, Central New York and throughout New York City since the age of 16. Alycia has frequented iconic NYC stages such as CB’s Gallery, Arlene’s Grocery and The Bitter End, to name a few.
THE MIXED MEDIA METHOD:
We believe there is strength in numbers, we believe in community, and we believe in the art of layering. When many different forms of media are used together, it is not only important to choose the layers carefully, but equally important to build a sturdy foundation upon which those different layers are imposed. This is the basis of any collective that has historically formed the artistic spine of New York City.
This is a general admission event in The Gallery at LPR.
The event will feature performances from Alycia Mayhew, Apryll Aileen, Andrea Grant, Mad Meg, Ian Sklarsky, DJ Ivan and will be emceed by Rebecca Larson.
