Dear World,
As I sit here, waiting for the impending doom from the winter storm of life, I decide to get back into writing.
For somehow in the midst of it all, I lost it.
I had a really great meeting tonight with the Director for my first music video ever – how exciting! We will be releasing it soon but first, there are some crucial edits and potential scenes to collect.
To see Steven Doiron’s talent, click here and check out the music video he directed for Kyle Willz!
I’m even going to let out a behind the scenes photo from on set of him in action…very James Dean if you ask me!
Stay tuned for more details on the music video release – the official premiere will be held at Barrel’s Head Pub in Rothesay!
What’s even more exciting, is for the first time, I’ve got my music entered in the CBC Searchlight Contest! This is where I ask you all to go check out my new tune “Butterflies” and give me a vote! Down to the right, you can click on the “Vote for this artist” button. Please also leave me a comment on here and let me know what you think. I’ve also got the latest version of “Hey Sugar” up there. I added some harmonies to the original and some fun keys at the end.
If you’re a musician, you should come out this Thursday night to Hampton to the Shiretown Pub! Starting at 8:30pm, Open Mic will kick off. We are in our third week of hosting it and we’ve had a great turnout!
Last week, Jeff McGrath joined us – it was his first time playing live in 2 years. He rocked it! He’ll be back this Thursday night.
For those of you who don’t want to venture out to Hampton, check out the #LoveSaintJohn Instagram Photo Festival happening Thursday night at the Saint John Ale House!
Have you ever wanted to have lunch with a Nuclear Physicist/UFOlogist? Our Premier? A Media Host? Radio Personalities? Now’s your chance – with all of the donations going towards a great cause! Proceeds help Priestman Street School in Fredericton, New Brunswick.
ONLINE AUCTION March 24th 6am-March 28th 4:30pm
LUNCH April 9th at 12noon – King St Ale House.
For those of you wondering what to do this weekend, don’t fret – there’s certainly lots happening!
If you’re looking for a Friday night full of groovy melodies and great ale, stop by the Saint John Ale House! I’ll be playing a set at 10:30pm. This will be my third show at the Ale House. A huge thank you to Pete Stoddart and Chris Barrie for building extra staging so my 88 key Roland keyboard would fit up in the entry way.
Here’s a cool shot of me playing during the #Saltys last month.
Gordi Munro is also playing music at the new Delta Brunswick Hotel MIX Resto|Bar from 7-10pm! There’s live music there Friday and Saturday evening for the first time, in support of Earth Hour Weekend – an environmentally friendly event celebrating local food and music.
On Saturday evening, we’ll roll the grand piano over into the restaurant and I’ll tickle the ivories – I cannot wait! Join us from 7-10pm to kick off your night in vintage style!
As I near the end, I realize that although tomorrow is a snow day, I’ll still be working from home. Why didn’t I go to bed earlier?
It’s 4:13am and the snow has ceased…not much is moving outside. It is truly the calm before the storm.
Goodnight world.
-Apryll
