Apryll Aileen Gets Creative with “Savannah Soul” Album Release
17 November, 2015
SAINT JOHN, New Brunswick – Soulful singer songwriter, Apryll Aileen has just released an exclusive way for fans and the community to preorder her debut album “Savannah Soul”, featuring the hit single “Hey Sugar”. Fans will be able to show their support by purchasing anything from a signed cd, to a disposable camera that will be taken on tour in 2016.
There’s even an option to give back to the community. Aileen has set it up so that companies and individuals are able to sponsor her to perform at an event, for a registered charity of their choice, in the Saint John region. Check out the campaign here!
Once her financial goal is reached, Aileen plans to donate 10% of all funds to the Saint John SPCA Animal Rescue. Why the SPCA? Animals have been a part of Aileen’s life since she first saw the light of this world. “Having a pet (or several) is all my family has ever known. Our current dog, Jasper, is like a little brother to me. He even sings when I do my vocal warm ups at home. I would love to contribute to the emergency medical fund to help animals in our community receive the care they need.”
The album was inspired by a trip to Savannah, Georgia, where Toronto based Producer, Kenny Munshaw (Justin Bieber, The Tenors, Miss America 2012), spends some of his time. Munshaw is a Canadian singer/songwriter with three studio albums released. Four of his singles have charted on the Canadian country music charts. The two were introduced shortly after Apryll wrote the soundtrack song for “Butterflies” – a film by Emmy Award Winning Writer & Director, Cayman Grant.
The album was recorded and produced between Munshaw’s studio in Toronto, Ontario & Dollhouse Studios in Savannah, Georgia and features the engineering expertise of Peter Mavrogeorgis (The National, Philip Glass, Childish Gambino) and the mastering skills of New York based Scott Hull of Masterdisk (Bruce Springsteen, John Mayer, Madonna, The Rolling Stones, Pearl Jam, Jay-Z, etc.).
Last month, Aileen released her first single “Hey Sugar” on iTunes & Google Play. The single, produced by Nick Fowler, has received radio play in Moncton on K94.5 FM, in Saint John on 97.3 The Wave, on 95.9 Sun FM in Miramichi and throughout Ontario. She has been interviewed by Kutting Edge host, Mike Sanderson and by Vanessa Vander Valk on CBC’s “The Shift” regarding “Hey Sugar” and her performance at Le Poisson Rouge, in Manhattan (a venue that normally boasts the likes of Lady Gaga, Yoko Ono & Norah Jones).
